Instances of Delegation and Empowerment by Leaders Observed in Indian Epics and Puranas that Inspires New Generation Researchers

Abstract

Purpose: To discuss the concepts of delegation and empowerment as critical leadership tools, drawing from the rich narratives of Indian Puranas, including the Ramayana and Mahabharata. By analyzing and evaluating specific instances of delegation and empowerment depicted in these ancient texts, the paper aims to uncover timeless leadership strategies that can inspire and guide modern researchers. This exploration not only highlights the enduring relevance of these ancient practices but also provides a nuanced understanding of how such strategies can be effectively applied in contemporary leadership and organizational contexts.

Methodology: En exploratory research methodology is used by analysing, comparing, evaluating, and interpretation of collected information using keyword-based search using various search engines including Google, Google Scholar, and AI-driven GPTs.

Analysis/Results: The instances of Leadership in Indian Puranas including Ramayana and Mahabharata are identified analysed, and evaluated. Also, the some of the instances of Delegation of authorities and empowerment of subordinators in Indian Epics and Puranas are identified, analysed, and evaluated using ABCD analysis framework.

Originality/Value: How Delegation and Empowerment by Leaders Observed in Indian Epics and Puranas that Inspire New Generation Researchers and Leaders are discussed, interpreted, and suggested in the form of postulate statements.
