Envisioning a Scientific, Sustainable, Holistic, Spiritual and All-rounded Indian School Education System as per NEP 2020 Inspired by Sanathana Dharma

Purpose: To propose a holistic Indian school education system rooted in Sanathana Dharma principles. The paper focuses on envisioning a holistic Indian school education system as per guidelines of NEP-2020 inspired by Sanathana Dharma.
Methodology: The scholarly paper is developed using exploratory research method. The required information are collected using keywords with the help of search engines like Google, Google scholar, AI-driven GPTs and analysed, compared, evaluated, and interpreted using SWOC, ABCD, and PESTLE frameworks as per the objectives of the paper.
Results & Discussions: The model proposes Scientific, Sustainable, Holistic, Spiritual and All-rounded Indian School Education System inspired by Sanathana Dharma for (1) Incorporation of Indian cultural heritage, values, and traditions and hearing of sanathana dharma principles in early childhood education at foundation stage, (2) Learning of Sanathana Dharma principles in the preparatory curriculum including Ahimsa (Non-violence), Satya (Truthfulness), Dharma (Righteousness), Daya (Compassion), Santosha (Contentment), Tapas (Self-discipline), Vidya (Knowledge), and Seva (Service). This stage also Emphasises on character building, moral values, and social responsibilities, Introduction to Indian arts, literature, and languages to foster cultural appreciation and identity, (3) Practicing and application of Sanathana Dharma principles and Ethics in Academic and Extracurricular Activities at the Middle Stage including Promotion of Critical Thinking, Creativity, Problem-Solving Abilities Grounded in Indian Philosophical Principles, introduction to Vedic Sciences, Yoga, and Meditation for Holistic Well-being, (4) Secondary stage preparing students for higher education and life beyond school. This includes Advanced study of Indian philosophy, literature, history to nurture a sense of cultural pride and identity, integration of Modern Technology and Scientific Education with Traditional Wisdom with emphasis on service-oriented learning and ethical leadership inspired by Sanathana Dharma values.
Outcome: A new model of Scientific, Sustainable, Holistic, Spiritual and All-rounded Indian School Education System inspired by Sanathana Dharma is envisioned at four stages of School education in support to NEP 2020 backed by Indian tradition and ethos for enhancing cognitive, socio-emotional, physical well-being, cultural, and spiritual development of personality of the students.
Originality/Value: The proposed holistic Indian school education system, inspired by Sanathana Dharma and aligned with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, embodies a comprehensive vision for nurturing all-rounded individuals who are equipped with scientific knowledge, sustainable values, holistic development, spiritual wisdom, and a deep-rooted connection to Indian ethos for overall development of children studying in Foundation stage, Preparatory stage, Middle School stage, and Secondary school stage.
