ORCID
What is ORCID?
ORCID is a non-profit organization that provides researchers with a unique digital identifier. These identifiers can be used by editors, funding agencies, publishers, and institutions to reliably identify individuals in the same way that ISBNs and DOIs identify books and articles. Thus, the risk of confusing your identity with another researcher with the same name is eliminated. The ORCID website provides researchers with a page where their comprehensive research activity can be stored.
How do I create an ORCID?
Registering for an ORCID can take less than a minute to complete. The service is entirely free to use and will act as your lifelong digital identifier for your research.
Upon registration at orcid.org/register, you will get an ORCID record that you can control in terms of content and decide who will be able to see it.
How can I use the ORCID iD as an Author?
- You can include your ORCID iD in our manuscript submission systems. If needed, you can also register for the iD during the submission process.
- Your ORCID iD will be displayed on the published work.
Sharing your ORCID record makes it easier to draw attention to your work and show your academic track record in a concise format. It will help improve the discoverability of your research and support collaboration within the research community.
